For extra performance, upgrade to the ST or Platinum trim which comes with an available 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 that provides 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. All models are equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive as optional. All-wheel drive slightly reduces these estimates, but still achieves a respectable 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. 

The 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 gets approximately 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway with rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive versions see a minor reduction to 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

The 2025 Ford Explorer interior has been meticulously updated with new soft-touch materials on the center console, door panels, and dashboard for a more refined feel.
